Pendant Lighting Is Both Useful And Unique
Pendant lighting is all
about showing off a unique style.
If this fits how you would like your home to look, then this
type of lighting is something you should definitely consider.
Typically you'll find most pendant lighting to be somewhat
elaborate. The lights hang from the ceiling and can be either a
single light hanging by a chain, or possibly a multi arm
fixture. Just about any style you could possibly want is
available. You will find pendant lighting fixtures that look
contemporary, modern, rustic, wrought iron, and nautical. There
are even children's fixtures available.
Many people will use pendant lighting over a bar, but really
they can be used just about anywhere in your home. Shades or
globes will protect your eyes from direct light. And there are
different light sources available as well. You can get the
standard incandescent, the brighter (and hotter) halogen, or
the quickly gaining in popularity florescent lights.
So why would you want pendant lighting? Well these lights
will be out of the way yet can be used to direct a warm light
over the area they are hung. They can do this without being too
formal. They are often called tear drop fixtures because their
shape is similar to a beautiful pendant hanging on a necklace.
A single bulb will give you a more subdued light, but some
fixtures are equipped to handle several bulbs, meaning you can
put a lot of light directly on to an area.
If you have a foyer with a high ceiling, pendant lighting is
often a good choice. You'll get a light that says "welcome"
without being blinding. The subdued light from a pendant can
have a nice effect in several areas of your home. Perhaps you
can use them over a desk in your study, or in your living room
or bedroom. Using a fixture with three bulbs will be beautiful
in any area where more light is needed. Say perhaps in your
dining room, game room, or even in a hallway with a high
ceiling.
There are so many options available that pendant lighting
can be used just about anywhere. And no matter where you put
these lights, they will add a unique style to your home.
